Fans hailed the signing of Julio Centeno today as the Florida Marlins starting pitcher came to terms with the club.
Set to make $28,680,000 over the upcoming 6 years, Centeno signed primarily out of loyalty to the organization, thrilling the most diehard supporters who think there isn't much loyalty in a market driven by free agency.

Gregg Riley's hit streak ended at 28 games today as the Marlins second baseman went 0-for-4 in a 11-1 loss to the Padres.
"It's one of those things," Riley said. "It just didn't happen. I guess it was my day not to get a hit."
This season Riley has delivered 175 hits in 543 at-bats for a .322 average with 7 home runs. He is getting on base at a .380 clip and his totals also include 70 RBIs and 106 runs scored. This year Riley has played in 137 games.

"Things went well for me today. I got 1 hit and the streak is up to 25 games. But we didn't win the game. As you all know, baseball is not about personal accomplishments, its about winning." Those words were spoken by Gregg Riley of the Florida Marlins to BNN after his club dropped a 3-1 decision to Houston.
G. Riley flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, walked in the 6th, singled in the 8th and struck out in the 10th.
So far this season, Riley has recorded a .323 batting average with 171 hits, 7 home runs, 67 RBIs, 105 runs scored and a .379 OBP.
