Team officials triumphantly announced that the Giants and superstar center fielder Steven Stutes have closed a deal that keeps the 34-year-old in a San Francisco uniform for another 2 years.
Stutes will earn $49,160,000 as part of the settlement.
In 1879 career games, Stutes has put up a .306 average, collected 503 doubles, 126 triples, and 323 home runs, driven in 1241 runs and scored 1394 times.

"Ever since I picked up my first bat my coaches were always saying to keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing... just make contact and ya never know what'll happen," Houston's Dean Davis told reporters after the game. "That's all I did today. I made contact and it turned out well."
It definitely turn out well for Davis today as he collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats against San Francisco. It turned out well for his team, too, as the Astros knocked off the Giants 10-4 at Pepsi International Field.
D. Davis hit a three-run home run off G. Apodaca in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off G. Harrison in the 8th.
Thus far this season Davis has hit .376 with 13 home runs, 54 RBIs and scored 51 times.

Michael McKinney spun his magic in a 5-0 shutout victory, allowing 5 hits while totaling no walks and 3 strikeouts.
The Milwaukee pitcher put quite a spell on San Francisco in a strong performance.
"I had a lot of good things working in this one," McKinney said. "I worked both sides of the plate. I was rarely behind in the count."
So far this year McKinney has compiled a 6-3 record with a 3.28 ERA.
